Happy New Year to all our intrepid RMNP and Estes Park visitors. Winter 2023 has been off to a snowy and cold start but there's always a bright side to the cold and snow - it makes for exceptional photos! Its only the 3rd of January and we've already been out twice with lots of bull elk, mule deer, moose and an assortment of birds and other wildlife to enjoy on our tours. Winter Lower Valley tours will often seen dozens of animals and today was no exception with our morning tour seeing 16 bull elk, a bull moose, and more than 20 deer including a very nice buck (see the images from today). In other news, after completing repairs on the Lake Estes dam, the lake has been refilled and an assortment of waterfowl is now occupying the open stretches of the lake. While I don't think we will have the swans return this year we still have a wide assortment of waterfowl for any aviary enthusiasts.
